My name is Josh Mellor and I probably have a story similar to yours. My story is the classic, almost predictable, tech at the top of his game strikes out on his own, and almost loses it all. Post military duty I transitioned to automotive technician and I figured out that I am damn good at it. But I have always had entrepreneurial tendencies. So I went back to school and got a degree in Business.

I started my business 15 years ago with a vision of what MY automotive shop would be. By the end of my first year, lets just say it was not going as planned. My client base was growing, my reputation was great, but I was missing the business end of it. A degree in business did not prepare me for this! I didn't know what I didn't know. I Almost Lost Everything. At the end of my first year, my bank account was dangerously low. My family's savings got sucked into the business. The IRS had me on speed dial. I was missing my children growing up. Something had to give.

Grit kept me swinging for the fence. Business specific training for automotive repair shops saved my business. I spent over 70K in 5 years, traveled to where the training was. In the process, I realized that even that knowledge could be improved upon. So I started to develop--My Way--and I realized that I was creating something that could change the industry, save peoples businesses, save relationships, save the time that should be spent with your children. And, it doesn't need to cost $70,000!

And guess what the #1 thing I've learned throughout this entire journey is...? You have to gain the Knowledge and Ability to build a business that is reflective of all the hard work you've done and the risk that you have taken as an entrepreneur. You don't have to spend thousands to understand and build a profitable business for you and your family. But you do need to be proactive and invest in your Business Ability.

This book is a great starting point. Really, its the book I wish someone would have handed me on day one of my business journey. Is it complete, heck no, its a short book that is packed with information you probably need to hear.
